Commission Custom-Designed Artwork
STEP 1 - (You) the Client and (I) the Artist, have a quick consultation.
I offer free online consultations, because I believe, the first step is also the most important step. In order for me to gauge what you are looking for in your commissioned artwork, I’ll ask you a few basic questions:
- If you have any specific * colour palate * in mind,
- Or a * concept * idea * theme * you would like represented.
- I will go over what * additional mixed media * means, and give you an idea of what * add-on’s are available.*
- We will discuss the size of canvas you are interested in and so on...
- Usually 15 mins is plenty of time to go over all the details. I will also be able to answer any questions you have, and give you an estimate on creation, preparation and delivery time.
- After our initial consultation, you’ll understand everything there is to know about commissioning custom-designed artwork! I understand it's a big purchase and I want you to be confident moving forward.
STEP 2 - Once you are confident about making an informed decision to commission my artwork, ask me to email you a 'Commission Artwork Agreement' to read, sign and send back to me by email.
*This Agreement is in place to ensure both parties are protected.*
By:
a.) Allowing (you) the Client the Right to Refusal of the Commissioned Artwork up until Payment is made in FULL.
- FULL payment is only due once the Artwork has been completed, and there has been final approval by (you) the Client.
b.) Relieving the Artist (myself) from being indebted to (you) the Client if a refusal does take place.
- The non-refundable deposit is in place for this reason.
Step 3 - Confirm your decision to move forward with the Commissioned Artwork by placing the *50% deposit down.
- Please Note -
*Once requested, The ‘Commission Artwork Agreement’ will be sent via Art By Julia Vaughan’s email info@juliavaughanart.com
*Please send the ‘Agreement’ electronically filled out/signed (Initials work!) back to the same email address.
*To pay the 50% Deposit: The *50% deposit price, differs depending on the canvas size you’ve chosen for your Commissioned Artwork.
*For more info: Please go to the ‘Commission Artwork product' page (that corresponds with the canvas size you have decided to purchase) via my Web Shop.
Cancellation Policy
A *50% deposit of the Total Price (of the canvas size the client has chosen for their Commissioned Artwork) will be required at the start.
The Client will need to read and accept the Terms and Conditions - Full Terms and Conditions will be included in the Commission Artwork Agreement, which is sent by email, once requested.
The Client will retain the right to cancel at anytime during the process - until payment is due in full. Upon a cancellation taking place, the *50% deposit is non-refundable. At completion, the *50% deposit will be taken off the Total Price.
The remainder due at completion will be the other *50% of the Total Price as well as any additional Mixed Media costs, already discussed in inital consultation.

Frequently asked question: How should I care for my UV light reactive artwork?
Excellent question!
To maintain the vibrancy and longevity of your glow-in-the-dark artwork, follow these simple steps:
- Display it in a location away from direct sunlight to prevent fading.
- Regularly dust the surface with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- If your artwork ever needs a good cleaning, a spritz of non-abrasive glass cleaner and a soft dry cloth is all you need for an effective cleaning. Lightly spray the dry cloth, then using cloth in circular motion, wipe artwork clean.
- When using UV light to enhance the glow effect, ensure the light source is appropriate and does not emit excessive heat.
Frequently asked question: Can I visit your studio to view artworks in person?
- Currently, I operate primarily online and do not have a physical studio open for visits. However, I provide detailed images and descriptions of each piece on my website to help you make informed decisions.
- I have also had a vendor's table at outdoor markets or festivals in the past and will post any upcoming events accordingly.
If you have any questions, please don''t hesitate to reach out! I strive to respond to all inquries within 48 hours.
Frequently asked question: Do you offer prints or reproductions of your original artworks?
- At this time, I focus on creating unique, original pieces and do not offer prints or reproductions. Each artwork is one-of-a-kind, ensuring you receive an exclusive piece of art.
- All of my artwork comes with a certificate of Authenticity on the back.

Please note the following: (i) a return based solely on a change of mind about the purchased artwork is sometimes unavoidable, however, if this occurs - and it is the only reason for the return - it will be up to the customer to pay the return shipping fee, and provide a way for the item to be tracked in it's return (ii) the following products are not eligible for return: All 'sale' items, All commissioned artwork.

Frequently asked question: What makes Julia's art unique?
There are many elements through out my work, that make my art unique, (in my opinion 🤩) here are the top 10 unique qualities of my artwork:
- Born in moments of transformation, my artwork tells a story. Fusing bold expressions, cosmic themes, and visual textures. Vivid contrasts create a hypnotic interplay of energy and movement.
- I use swirling patterns, dynamic transitions of colour and the tension between the light and the dark to convey emotion, evoke memories, and transport the viewer to another world.
- My artwork takes the viewer on a tactile journey, capturing a moment, a feeling, a concept, or an idea that speaks to the soul.
- I use mixed media to transform the canvas into multidimentional landscapes, adding texture and depth to my artwork.
- My use of crystalline elements, as well as metallic and iridescent tones in my artwork creates a sense of raw beauty, geological formations and cosmic wonder.
- There are two sides to my artwork:
- Daylight, shows off intricate details and invites veiwers to explore the organic mystique of each piece.
- While, my use of UV light activated paint, transforms my artwork into an electrifying display of neon colours, glowing vividly in UV light.
- I layer and then seal all of my work with Epoxy Resin, which ensures lasting shine and longevity, while adding to the many layers of depth under the glass-like surface of each piece.
- I build layers with intention. Each detail contributes to the overall narrative of the piece, infusing storytelling into my art.
- Enthralled with the art of storytelling since a young age, my intrigue has only become more pronounced as I gain life experience.
- Aided by my diploma in Acting For Film and Television, my ability to intuitively sense unspoken emotions, and my intrinsic values for human connection, are what guide me today, in the pursuit of my craft.
